INDECENT REPRESENTATION OF WOMEN (PROHIBITION) ACT, 1986

The Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986 prohibits the indecent, derogatory, or denigrating portrayal of women through advertisements, publications, writings, paintings, or figures. Enacted to prevent female objectification and preserve public morality, violations carry mandatory fines and imprisonment up to two years for first-time offenders.
